Solgar® Soya Lecithin is extracted from soy beans and provides a source of lecithin.
Lecithin is a fat molecule which can be found in plants and animals. It is a source of phospholipids, a functional component of cells. Phospholipids give structure to the cell membrane and supports the passage of nutrients in and out of the cells.
Lecithin can be found in liver and other organ meats, soybeans and egg yolks, and is often used in foods as a fat emulsifier. It is a source of B vitamins, including choline. As the consumption of lecithin rich foods has decreased in recent years, dietary supplementation with lecithin can support normal healthy levels in the body.
